Storytelling lies in the heart of the
human experience and varies in forms, whether it be words, a work of
art, or a piece of music. Mack Hodgson writes and tells
stories. A country veterinarian for 30 years, Mack was born and
raised in East TN Smoky Mountains and most of his stories are formed by
the events and history of the region.
He writes of legendary tales and life's
lessons learned. He writes of the
journey of living and, accompanied by
his simple but skillful guitar playing
and his southern tinged vocal, uses
his songs to share experiences and
beliefs with others
Influenced early on by a personal
friend, Mack has always had a passion
for music. That friend was none other
than legendary songwriter, Keith Whitley.
Evenings spent with Whitley, swapping
stories and singing songs led him
to his truest form of Applachian
Americana Music.
You will not find "complicated" in
Mack's vocabulary. He is a quiet and
happy family man with a love of
animals, his wife, and his daughter.
You can often find him performing at
coffee houses, county fairs, and
storytelling festivals. He has one
release on the market and is currently
working on a second. So grab a cup of
coffee or a mason jar and come by and
sit by the fire with Mack and the
zillion animals he owns and cares for.
Listen to his stories... and share
the experience. |
